KeelWit is awarded a new contract with AMEC Foster Wheeler North America

The good results achieved in previous cooperations with its Spanish subsidiary has pushed AMEC Foster Wheeler North America to work with KeelWit directly. This project consisting of several CFD simulations shall allow the engineering group the optimization of the HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) used in a combined heat & power plant they are starting to build. This is the first time KeelWit has been chosen by other subsidiaries out of Spain of this international engineering group, for whom KeelWit has worked in tight cooperation since early 2014....

José María Cancer speaker in Expoquimia’s 50th anniversary

EXPOQUIMIA, international fair organized by the Pharma and Chemical Industries celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015. The main event linked to this anniversary was a round table of experts from different industries sharing their vision on what the near future shall bring to pharma and chemical sectors. José María Cancer presented the similarities of the troubles faced by the Automotive Industry in the latest decades and the current concerns of Expoquimia’s associates. If similarities can be found in the threats faced, similarities might also be found in the solutions needed. Simulation Driven Design Techniques as well as energy management and energy cost reduction in thermodynamic processes play a key role in a company’s survival. KeelWit’s know-how on simulation techniques as well as advanced cooling systems, pressure management and combustion reactions have been successfully applied in different industries with paybacks of less than 2 years. This part of the speech became a trending topic in the following discussion among the board of guest speakers of the event. Click here to know more on the...

KeelWit Technology lectures in ANSYS Convergence 2015

KeelWit has been selected once more to lecture in the annual convention organized by ANSYS Iberia to display the “best practices” of the previous year in numerical simulation using its software package. For this occasion Isaac Prada explained the methodology of “Structured Multiattribute Optimization using a combination of algorithms and ACTs”. The methodology was explained on its use for vertical wind tunnels’ design. This methodology is the leitmotiv of Isaac’s PhD and its first real case application has been the design of the Indoor Skydiving Vertical Wind Tunnel of Madrid Fly, recently built in the outskirts of Madrid...

KeelWit Technology travels to Brasil searching for new business opportunities

Isaac Prada has traveled to Brazil to analyze the possibility to locally develop projects in some of KeelWit’s areas of expertise, establishing partnerships with local companies. The main meetings were held with the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers, SINDUSCON (Syndicate of Building Companies) and the Ministry of Mining and Energy (through its program “Power for all”). The meetings were focused on possible energy efficiency projects in industries and distributed energy resource systems.  Additionally Isaac also explained the way KeelWit uses CFD analyses to face engineering challenges and wind tunnel testing as a tool for product development. The conclusion of the trip were several engagements of exploring the synergies found and their application on different projects to be detailed during a future trip the first semester of...
