Personal training course on ansys fluent use for KeelWit Technology

Special training course for KeelWit Technology engineers at its HQ in Madrid. The advanced training course was tailor-made for KeelWit Technology, as part of the Company’s on-going enhancement plan, aimed at furthering knowledge in Computer Fluid Dynamics, using the most powerful software available. The contents selected will allow KeelWit’s engineers to face especially complex cases in CFD simulations such as: – Fluid mixing in partially full pipes – Erosion and sudden pressure variations due to partial or total blocking of fluid pipes caused by fouling detachment from pipe inner surface – Phase change: solid-liquid or liquid-gas. – Hydraulic obstacles in water channel – Supercritical fluid behaviour and performance in conduits and equipment – Water or fluid hammer (simulation of quick transient phenomena of great pressure variations) – Deforming and moving meshes and mesh generation/erasing – Burners for pirotubular boilers Currently, there are only 150 companies in Spain that have purchased an official software license for this powerful and complex tool. It proves that KeelWit is a cutting-edge engineering company, fully equipped and experienced in fluid dynamic calculations that can be later empirically tested in the Company’s own air wind tunnel. The knowledge of these complex cases will be applied to projects developed for customers in their industrial processes as well as in certain R&D projects currently being carried out with the wind tunnel at KeelWit’s facilities....

KeelWit Technology develops a project on solar panels aerodynamics for Gestamp Solar

Gestamp is an international group dedicated to the design, development and manufacturing of metal automotive components. Gestamp Renewables, a division of Corporación Gestamp, is an industrial group that operates and supplies components within the renewable energy sector. Gestamp Solar is one of the several companies that nowadays integrate Gestamp Renewables. It is focused on generating solar energy projects that are both ecological and highly profitable, offering tailor-made solutions as required. To date, Gestamp Solar has participated in the development, construction, maintenance and operation of plants with a total capacity of over 400 MW. Thanks to a permanent investment in R&D projects, Gestamp Solar is developing a new supporting structure for solar panels. It has needed an aerodynamic analysis to ensure its functionality, which has been contracted to KeelWit Technology. We have made different CFD 3D analyses, later validated through several wind tunnel tests. As a result of this complete study, Gestamp Solar has obtained relevant information about the operating conditions of this new device under strong...

KeelWit Technology lectures in convergence 2014: Annual Conference of Best Practices in the Numerical Simulation Industry

ANSYS Iberia organizes an annual event where leading engineering companies are invited to lecture on the most relevant and successful projects developed through numerical simulation during the previous year. KeelWit was invited to lecture its project “Improving Flow Characteristics and Turbulence throughout the Exhaust Duct of a Gas Turbine for Combined Cycle Power Plants”. The audience of over 150 people was formed by engineering teams of some of the most relevant engineering companies in Spain such as Técnicas Reunidas, Empresarios Agrupados, ITP, CTAG, Tecnalia, Navantia, o Tecnatom. KeelWit Technology develops a solution to prevent flashover problems in substations located in the desert for one of its clients

Due to the geographical situation of the substation, the ambient air has a high concentration of sand and salt. This high degree of pollution started generating flashover problems in the substation. Different solutions were studied to avoid the problems generated by the deposition of sand and the high environmental salinity. On one hand, several CFD 3D simulations were performed to observe the behavior of air in the surroundings of the complex. These simulations were focused in the design of different elements to aerodynamically deviate the wind from the surfaces to protect. On the other hand, a coating with silicone materials over insulators was studied, reaching the solution for the...

KeelWit Technology attends the second European Forum on railway running gears sponsored by ANSYS

The rolling gear is the core of the railway technology, involving all the railway industry stakeholders: manufacturers, operators, regulators, maintenance engineers, designers, researchers, authorities, policy makers and users Companies in this industry often use FEM simulation as a useful tool to predict the behavior and performance of trains and its linked infrastructure. ANSYS is the benchmark among simulation software, and is used by most of the engineering teams involved. Being an ANSYS expert as well as the owner of a wind tunnel for aerodynamic testing and crosschecking of results from simulation, KeelWit Technology was invited to attend this international forum, held in Alcalá de Henares University, sponsored by ANSYS Iberia. During 3 days the companies participating in the forum showed their flagship projects and the most complex simulations performed, sharing their knowledge and displaying their skills.
