KEELWIT PERFORMS THE DESIGN AND COMMISSIONING OF AN AERODYNAMIC TESTING WIND TUNNEL FOR THE MOTOR & SPORT INSTITUTE

KeelWit has designed and is currently manufacturing a tailored wind tunnel for the new facilities of the Motor and Sport Institute. This wind tunnel for aerodynamic testing will allow to analyze the aerodynamic performance of scale vehicles and compare it with the results obtained by Computational Fluid Dynamics using the most advanced software. Wind tunnel sensors and measuring equipment will provide a practical knowledge about aerodynamics for the MSI’s students that is not achievable in other centers where there this type of equipment is not available. Furthermore, Teo Martín Motorsport team will use the wind tunnel up to 200 km/h to test the aerodynamics settings of its vehicles with which the team races successfully on different categories. Other motorsport teams would use the MSI facilities to fine-tune their cars, due to the small number of available wind tunnels for testing with these...

Dani Pedrosa and Marc Márquez speak about aerodynamics at Madrid Fly

The conversation took place within an event organized by Repsol Honda Team (comercial name of Honda Racing Corporation or HRC) at Madrid Fly. The world champions had firstly the oportunity of enjoying their maiden flight at Madrid Fly and later, with the help of a small horizontal wind tunnel assembled for the occasion, explained to the media gathered there the importance of aerodynamics in the performance of their motorbikes. After the event, managers of Repsol spoke with Isaac Prada to better know how KeelWit had worked in the aerodynamic design of the Madrid Fly wind...

Experiences exchange with the aerodynamic team of the Microgravity University Institute “Ignacio Da Riva”

The Microgravity University Institute “Ignacio Da Riva” of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (IDR/UPM) is a center oriented towards investigation activities, development and training in the areas of aerospace science and technology. Inside their facilities there are various wind tunnels of different sizes and types which are used for aerodynamic tests. Firstly, KeelWit’s staff visited the IDR to admire the high degree of finish of their handcrafted wind tunnels for scientific use, as well as their level of sensorization. Later, IDR staff came to Madrid Fly to admire the capabilities and finish achieved by KeelWit Technology in their vertical wind tunnels for Indoor Skydiving, oriented to leisure and sport for public...

Commissioning a wind tunnel for aerodynamic testing

In order to equip itself with the most modern technology and to become a reference center among educational institutions in the area of racing cars’ engineering, a new center that will open its doors in 2018 has hired KeelWit to design and manufacture its wind tunnel for aerodynamic testing. Once the specifications list of the device has been agreed, KeelWit is applying its MOST-HDS algorithm to optimize its design while respecting the available footprint in the room where it will be installed, as well as the speed indexes that are required for accurate...

KeelWit interviewed in Telemadrid TV station and Motor 16 weekly magazine

Telemadrid TV station broadcasted from Madrid Fly’s facilities an interview showing KeelWit’s laboratory for aerodynamic testing, where its engineers test the new concepts and features to be installed in the next generations of Vertical Wind Tunnels they are designing.                      In the TV journal Telenoticias that was emitted later that same day they also displayed a great interest in one of KeelWit’s IP protected designs: a standard trash trolley conversion allowing it to be electrically self-propelled, helping trash collectors do their job in an easy and effortless way when faced to ramps and transporting heavy loads. Motor 16 car magazine chose to talk about how both founders chose to quit their rich automotive career to build an engineering company where they have introduced many of the lessons learnt in those years, especially from Isaac’s experience in Formula 1....

KeelWit to build a new Indoor Skydiving Tunnel for EYDISA Wind Tunnels in the Alps

EYDISA has reached an agreement with French investors to build a double loop 15 feet vertical wind tunnel in Chambéry, in the French Alps, that shall become a reference both for professional flyers and general public in the region. KeelWit shall design, build and install all the technology of the tunnel for EYDISA. Windalps, the third tunnel to be built by EYDISA confirms how investors from different countries have found that the eye-catching design and performance of Madrid Fly, KeeelWit’s first tunnel, have set a new level of quality, design and performance standards in this...
